WELCOME to OPERA LIRICA ITALIANA

We are a newly formed non-for profit Canadian opera group based in the Toronto area. Our mission is to perform traditional operatic productions mainly from the Italian lyric repertoire and to stage these magnificent operas in an intimate setting using traditional sets, costumes, language and also provide a forum where emerging Canadian artists can showcase their talent. Our goal is to make our opera performances accessible and affordable to everyone within the greater Toronto community.

For those of you who don't know what happens behind the scenes. The opera artform takes months of preparation and counts on the efforts of many talented artists and volunteers. It relies on private and public funding to bring the magic to life. If you love Opera in it's traditional form, then please support our new group as we begin to build an atmosphere where the most beautiful music on earth will truly sweep you away.
